General Information
Amarin is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with the lead program entering Phase 3 for hypertriglyceridemia. Amarin’s cardiovascular programs capitalize on its expertise in the field of lipid science and the known therapeutic benefits of essential fatty acids in cardiovascular disease.

Research Activities
AMR101, a prescription grade Omega-3 fatty acid, is an ultra pure (~97%) ethyl ester of eicosapentaenoic acid. Phase 3 development of AMR101 in hypertriglyceridemia is planned to commence in 2009. Hypertriglyceridemia is a condition associated with increased levels of heart disease diagnosed in over 10 million people in the US.
