General Information
Purdue Pharma L.P. is dedicated to serving the evolving needs of healthcare providers, patients and caregivers with innovative prescription and non-prescription medicines. Known for its pioneering research on persistent pain, Purdue has also applied its expertise to other therapeutic areas such as respiratory diseases and bacterial infections and to a growing line of OTC products including laxatives, microbicides and nutraceuticals. A commitment to innovation and caring spans every aspect of the organization, from discovering and launching new medicines to demonstrating their medical value.

Research Activities
Scientific research is at the heart of Purdue. There are three research facilities in the US. Our discovery research scientists in Cranbury, New Jersey are exploring the frontiers of biotechnology to discover novel analgesics and new weapons against cancer, as well as novel treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders such as neuropathic pain, migraine and insomnia. In Ardsley, New York, our pre- clinical development group is developing novel formulations and drug delivery systems for our growing portfolio of new drug candidates. In Stamford, CT our clinical research and development and regulatory teams design and direct clinical studies to bring our products through rapid evaluation and approval.

Purdue produces a range of differentiated products, including OxyContin? (oxycodone HCl) and MS Contin? (morphine sulfate) for moderate to severe pain, Uniphyl? (theophylline, anhydrous) for asthma, Chirocaine? (levobupivacaine injection) anesthetic, and the popular over-the-counter Senokot? laxatives and Betadine? antiseptics.
Purdue Pharma is part of an international group of associated companies - including Mundipharma in Germany and Napp Pharmaceutical Group in the U.K. - employing more than 5,000 people in pharmaceutical research, manufacturing, sales and marketing worldwide.
